Obituary for David L. Addlespurger
David L. Addlespurger, age 74, of Macksburg, Ohio, died Friday, July 13, 2018, at his home. He was born May 5, 1944, in Dexter City, son of the late Oliver Mahlon and Beulah M. Lent Addlespurger. He was a United States Army veteran, having served in Vietnam from 1968-69. He owned and operated Dave’s Car Sales in Macksburg, and he also drove a truck and skidder, and owned a wrecker service. He was a member of the Caldwell Fraternal Order of the Moose, #221. Dave enjoyed riding four wheelers, mudding, and playing cards and horseshoes. He also enjoyed going to demolition derbies with his orange car #01 as well as attending car shows with his cars. He loved his family and spending time with them, especially when having weekend cookouts. He was always there to help anyone in need.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one nephew, Terry Clarida.
Surviving are his wife, Doris L. Massey Addlespurger, whom he married January 1, 1980; his children, Angela D. Heddleson (Brent Rossiter) of Caldwell, and Adam L. Addlespurger and Aleisha R. (J.R.) Cantwell, both of Macksburg; his siblings, Inez (Larry) Clarida of Williamstown, West Virginia, Margaret (Tom) Hornbeck of Ruskin, Florida, Janet Brown, Carolyn Hoffert, and Faye Moore, all of Marietta, and Earl (Marjorie) Addlespurger of Macksburg; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Monday, July 16, 2018, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be observed Tuesday, July 17th at 11AM with Pastor Bill Pickenpaugh officiating. A veteran’s graveside service will follow at Lund Cemetery conducted by the Noble County Veteran’s Service Organizations.
