David Jan Koval, age 68, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Monday, June 8, 2015, at his home. He was born September 8, 1946, in Cambridge, son of the late John E. and Stella Eileen Oliver Koval. He was a 1964 graduate of Caldwell High School and Muskingum Area Technical College in Zanesville where he studied business. He also attended Bowling Green State University. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of the signal corps, having served during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Simonds Industries in Newcomerstown and NCR in Cambridge. He was a member of the First Church of Christ in Caldwell, the Caldwell VFW Post #4721, and the Caldwell Eagles Chapter #2952. Mr. Koval loved sports, and he was a fan of the Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Indians, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed walking.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Jon M. Koval.
Surviving are his children, Michael J. Koval, Marcie Jo Koval, Melissa Janelle Koval, and Danielle Marie Koval, all of Caldwell; his former wife, Patricia Ann Koval of Caldwell; one brother, Jack L. Koval of Caldwell; one sister-in-law, Linda Koval of Caldwell; two grandchildren, Malia Poland and Aryana Poland, both of Caldwell; and several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Friends may call Saturday, June 13, 2015 at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street in Caldwell, from 11AM -1PM. A memorial service will follow visitation at 1PM with Pastor Dale Hunt officiating. Military graveside services will follow at Olive Cemetery conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
