Obituary for Dave Robinson
Dave Robinson, age 71, of Cumberland, Ohio, died Thursday, February 13, 2020, at his home. He was born February 10, 1949, in Cherry Falls, West Virginia, son of Eloise Dean Robinson of Massillon and the late Hansel Robinson. He was a 1968 graduate of Tuslaw High School, and he was a United States Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He received two Purple Hearts for his injuries and he retired from the service in 1971. Prior to serving his country, he was employed at a plastics plant in California. Dave was a member of the Belle Valley American Legion Post #641. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery, playing cards, and he loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by one brother, Stephen Robinson.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Vicki A. Hicks Robinson, whom he married December 21, 1968; his children, Dawn M. Beasley of Cambridge and John D. “J.D.” (Jacie) Robinson of Coal Ridge; three grandchildren, Samantha (Brad) Glidden, Caleb Beasley, and Jaden Robinson (fiancé, Chris Wilson); one great-grandchild, Paisley Glidden; his sister, Carol A. Conley of Orrville; three sisters-in law and brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Sunday, February 16, 2020, from 12PM-4PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 4PM with Ken Perkins officiating. A veteran’s memorial service will be conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Guernsey at www.hospiceofguernsey.com.
