Darla J. Farley, age 49, of Macksburg, Ohio, died Friday, February 7, 2014, at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta. She was born May 6, 1964, in Beverly, daughter of Eugene and Mary Lois Snodgrass McKown of Crooked Tree. She was a 1982 graduate of Caldwell High School, and she was employed as a waitress for the Bean Kettle in Macksburg, and she owned and operated the Salem Inn at Lower Salem. She attended the Macksburg United Methodist Church. Darla enjoyed watching television, especially the Cooking Channel and old westerns, and she enjoyed keeping her house, working in her yard, and making crafts. She loved her family.
She is preceded in death by one sister, Janice McKown.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, Richard E. Farley, whom she married in 1987; one son, Richard Eugene Farley, II, of Macksburg; one step-daughter, Letisha Ayn Farley (Nick Rymer) of Macksburg; her siblings, Beverly (Joe) McNabb of Lowell, Tammy Hadding (Terry Wells) of Crooked Tree, Frank (Alisha) Schob of Macksburg, Amber McKown (Timmy Smith) of Caldwell, Todd (Sandy) McKown of Crooked Tree, and Troy McKown of Crooked Tree; two grandchildren, Alex and Lilly; her mother-in-law, Dorothy L. Kemp of Macksburg; special friends, Maya (Jim) Hupp Kirkbride of Macksburg, Ashley (Joel) Swain Schafer and daughter Riley McKown of Caldwell; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Private visitation will be observed. A graveside service will be observed Sunday, February 9, 2014, at 2PM at Lund Cemetery in Macksburg with Pastor Bill Pickenpaugh officiating. McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, is caring for the family.
