Obituary for Daniel E. Farley
Daniel E. Farley, age 74, of Macksburg, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord Thursday, September 2, 2010. He was born September 6, 1935, in Stanleyville, Ohio, son of the late Daniel Loy and LaVinnia Carter Farley. He was a graduate of Dexter City High School and he was a United States Army veteran. Mr. Farley was retired from Elkem Metals following 37 years of service in its Loco Shop. He was a member of the Macksburg United Methodist Church, Aurelius Lodge #308, F&AM, Rufus Putnam Chapter #108, Marietta Council #78, Marietta Commandary #50, Knights Templar, Aladdin Shrine, Aurelius Chapter #60, OES, and the Dexter City American Legion.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Eileen Farley McCreery and Donna Farley Day.
Surviving are his wife, Gloria Myers Miller Farley, whom he married May 19, 1972; his children, Debbie Foreman, Richard (Darla) Farley of Macksburg, Tina (Patrick) Matlack of Caldwell, George Manning (Linda) Miller of Cambridge, Gerry (Shauna) Miller of Pasadena, Maryland, Terry (Mandy) Miller of Caldwell, Vanessa (Adrian) Casteen of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Bill (Stacy) Miller of Marietta, and Donna Farley of Macksburg; one sister, Norma (Bob) Diehl of Marysville; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Monday, September 6, 2010, from 2-4 and 6-8 at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where masonic services and eastern star serviceswill follow at 8PM conducted by the Aurelius Lodge #308, F&AM and the Aurelius Chapter #60, OES. The funeral service will be observed Tuesday, September 7th at 1PM at the Macksburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Ken Ogg officiating. A military graveside service will follow at Salem Twp. Cemetery conducted by the Noble County Veterans Services Organization. Memorial contributions may be made to the Macksburg United Methodist Church or the Macksburg United Methodist Charge Mens Group at 390 Mechanic Street, Macksburg, Ohio, 45746.
