Obituary for Dana H. Reed
Dana H. Reed, age 87, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Friday, May 13, 2016, at Greystone Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cambridge. He was born January 5, 1929, in Cleveland, son of the late Dr. N. S. and Jessica Hundley Reed. He was a 1947 graduate of Caldwell High School, and he attended the Ohio State University. Mr. Reed was a United States Marine Corp veteran, and he retired as a foreman from R.C. Moore Lumber Company in Caldwell following over 60 years of service. He also owned and operated a family farm. He attended the Caldwell United Methodist Church, and he was a member and past president of the Seneca Sportsman’s Club. He was also a member and captain of the Caldwell Volunteer Fire Department, and he was a consistent blood donor for the American Red Cross, donating until he was over 80 years old.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Rose McCormick.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Annette Smith Reed, whom he married April 28, 1957; three sons, David C. (Chris) Reed of Caldwell, Brett E. (Glenna) Reed of Jackson, and Aaron M. Reed of Caldwell; two grandchildren, Phillip Reed and Caleb Reed; and five nieces and one nephew.
A memorial service will be observed Sunday, May 22, 2016, at 2PM at the Caldwell United Methodist Church, 537 Main Street, Caldwell, with Pastor Jim Cooper officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Caldwell Volunteer Fire Department, 215 West Street, Caldwell, Ohio, 43724; to the Caldwell United Methodist Church, 537 Main Street, Caldwell, Ohio, 43724; or to Hospice of Guernsey at www.hospiceofguernsey.com, or to P.O.
