Clarence E. Fogle, age 101, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Sunday, December 22, 2013, at his home. He was born August 4, 1912, in Caldwell, son of the late Walter and Hannah Jane Morrison Fogle. He was a graduate of Caldwell High School, and he retired as a job foreman for Weirton Steel in 1972. He was a former deacon at Lover’s Lane Church of Christ in Steubenville, and a Sunday School teacher and longtime member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Caldwell. Mr. Fogle enjoyed golfing, and he loved watching his great-grandchildren play sports. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather He is preceded in death by two sisters, Noreen Bates and Ilene Fogle; and five brothers, Kenneth, Donald, Carl, Richard, and Charles Fogle. Surviving are his wife, Thelma Piatt Fogle, whom he married October 8, 2003; one daughter, Janet Shook of Toronto; one step-son, Don (Karen) Piatt of Cambridge four grandchildren, Craig Shook, Chris Shook, Melissa Wheeler, and Tammy Aggers; six great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter and three sisters-in-law, Helen Fogle of Salesville, Ruth Fogle of Caldwell, and Donna Fogle of McConnelsville. Friends may call Thursday, December 26, 2013, from 10AM to 1PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow at 1PM with Frank Love officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery in Caldwell. Memorial contributions may be made to the Main Street Church of Christ, 631 Main Street, Caldwell, Ohio, 43724.
