Obituary for Christopher D. Pekari
Christopher D. Pekari, age 55, of Cambridge, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He was born November 10, 1961, in Barnesville, son of Daniel E. and Carole E. Turner Pekari of Lore City. He was a 1979 graduate of Meadowbrook High School, and he was employed as a press operator at Cambridge Packaging with 30 years of service. Chris was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Lore City. He enjoyed fishing, swimming, and taking trips to the ocean. He also enjoyed music and playing the guitar, gardening, and building and fixing things. He loved spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by an infant daughter, DeShawna Carol Pekari, who died September 26, 2001.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Emily A. Mizik Pekari, whom he married June 29, 2002; two sons, Chrisopher Patrick Pekari of the home and Steven Christopher Pekari of Byesville; his siblings, Todd E. (Joletta) Pekari of Cumming, Georgia, Julie V. (Jeremy) McElfresh of Senecaville, and Clint T. (Carrie) Pekari of Lore City; one grandson, Damien Pekari; his aunt and uncle, Linda and Bill Arick of Quaker City; his mother-in-law, Carol Mizik of Belle Valley; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Friday, June 23, 2017, from 3PM-7PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Saturday, June 24th at 11AM with Ken Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Halley’s Ridge Cemetery.
