Obituary for Charles Richard Hardesty
Charles Richard Hardesty, age 79, of Dexter City, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born October 3, 1939, in Caldwell, son of the late John Franklin and Leona Frances Wheeler Hardesty. He was a self-employed welder, and he worked in road construction, including building Interstate-77 from Canton, Ohio, to Charleston, West Virginia.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, David Hardesty; and one sister, Carolyn Hardesty.
Surviving are his wife, Charlene Wheeler Hardesty; his children, Connie Hardesty of Marietta, Debra (David) Pickenpaugh of Senecaville, Frank (Janet) Hardesty of Dexter City, Martha (Bill) Swain of Caldwell, John (Melissa) Hardesty of Dexter City, Mike (Angel) Hardesty of Caldwell, Lisa Leasure of Caldwell, Pam Marquis of Caldwell, Dan Hardesty of Dexter City, and Eric (Jessica) Hardesty of Pleasant City; his siblings, Sally (Alva) Clark of Pleasant City, Kathryn Maxwell of Caldwell, and Ruth Ann (Gary) Feldner of Sarahsville; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday, June 14, 2019, from 1:30PM-3:30PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 3:30PM with Ken Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Barry’s Ridge Cemetery.
