Obituary for Charles M. Martin
Charles M. Martin, Jr., age 62, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Thursday, June 23, 2011, at his home. He was born May 9, 1949, in Clark County, Kentucky, son of Charles and Laura Lee Martin of Crown City, Ohio. He was a U. S. Army veteran, having served as a paratrooper for the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was formerly employed by Noble Hardwood, and he worked on oil rigs. Mr. Martin enjoyed riding motorcycles, and having cookouts and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by one daughter, Theresa Martin; and one sister, Linda Rohrbaugh.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Vicki J. Shuster Martin, whom he married February 2, 1985; his children, Charles G. (Angela) Martin, Scott A. Martin, and Renee (Chad) Afterkirk, all of Georgetown, Kentucky, and Joshua B. Martin, Kimberly D. Ivey (William Everly), David A. Ivey, and Scott E. (Crissy) Ivey, all of Caldwell; his siblings, Margaret, Sue, Dee Dee, Rosa, Doug, Paul, Randy, Terry, and Todd, all of Gallipolis; a sister-in-law, Kathy Shuster of Caldwell; two brothers-in-law, Tony Shuster and Dave Shuster, both of Caldwell; 22 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Friends may call Wednesday, June 29, 2011, from 11AM-1PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow at 1PM with Pastor Bill Pickenpaugh officiating, and a military service will be conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations. Memorial contributions to assist the family with funeral expenses may be made to McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, P.O. Box 263, Caldwell, Ohio, 43724.
