Obituary for Charles L. Watson

Charles L. Watson, age 77, of Sarahsville, Ohio, died Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Altercare Summit Acres. He was born November 30, 1946, in Cambridge, son of the late Clarence L. and Mary A. Huggins Watson. Charles was a 1964 graduate of Old Washington High School and the Washington County Career Center, where he became a certified electrician. He was employed over the years by NCR in Cambridge, Sidwell Mining, the Mahle Corporation, and as a self-employed electrician. He retired as a corrections officer for the Noble County Jail. In his spare time, he enjoyed deer hunting.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Brian Watson; and one brother, Robert E. Watson.

Surviving are his wife, Darlene K. “Pickle” Stottsberry Watson, whom he married June 12, 1970; his children, Charlotte Torrez of Arizona, Larry (Laura) Watson of Rushville, Charles (Anita) Watson of Arizona, and Stephanie A. Rios of Columbus; four grandchildren, Bryan, Chase, Alexandra, and Madelyn; his siblings, David W. (Pat) Watson of Cumberland and Gary R. Watson of Old Washington; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be observed Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 1PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, with Pastor John Boggs officiating. Burial will follow at Hoskinsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Belle Valley Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 16, Belle Valley, Ohio, 43717.
