Charles C. Gould, age 81, of Cambridge, Ohio, formerly of Cumberland, died Sunday, March 10, 2024, at OhioHealth Southeastern Medical Center in Cambridge. He was born March 10, 1943, in Caldwell, son of the late Clifford Gray and Effie Ann Fogle Gould. He was a 1961 graduate of New Concord High School and was a United States Air Force veteran who served in England and France during the Vietnam War. Charles retired from the American Electric Power Plant in Beverly, where he worked in maintenance. He was a member of the Old Cambridge Baptist Church, the Noble County Genealogical Society, the Guernsey County Genealogical Society, the Cambridge Civil War Roundtable, and the Belle Valley American Legion Post # 641. Charles enjoyed traveling, playing board games and cards, especially euchre, and taking car rides. He loved his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Ann McCormick Gould, who died December 5, 1993; and two sisters, Shirley (Vernon) Schoeppner and Norma Jean Herstine.
Surviving are his wife, Betty L. Ford Rausch Gould, whom he married February 14, 1995; his children, Lori Ann (Brian) Roach of Cumberland, Cheryl L. Schooley of Zanesville, Lisa M. (Eric) Poland of Cumberland, and David M. (Missy) Gould of Norwich; his step-children, Lynette (Jack) Tipton of Cambridge, Anita Rausch of Byesville, and Kristen (Wayne) Martin of California; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; his sister, Althea (Mike) Hammonds of Zanesville; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 3-6PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Friday at 11AM with Rev. Craig Murrey officiating. A veteran’s graveside service will follow at Hoskinsville Cemetery conducted by the Noble County Veteran’s Service Organizations.
