Obituary for Charles A. Dimmerling
Charles A. Dimmerling, age 61, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Monday, March 16, 2015, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. He was born August 2, 1953, in Zanesville, son of the late Alfred Henry and Eunice A. Huck Dimmerling. He attended Golden Rule School and the GNC Workshop in Byesville for many years, and he also attended Belco Works in St. Clairsville. He was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulda. Charlie wanted to know everyone’s name, and he enjoyed collecting pop tabs for Ronald McDonald House. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, shuffling cards, and he loved country-western music.
He is survived by his siblings, Joann K. (Jim) Shankland of Dexter City, James A. (Liz) Dimmerling of Caldwell, Norman F. (Betty) Dimmerling of Malta, and David E. Dimmerling of Caldwell; his nieces and nephews, Olivia Dolan, Alex Dimmerling, Stacey Cartell, Stephen Dimmerling, and Noah Dimmerling; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a Christian Scripture service will be observed at 7:30PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be observed Wednesday at 10AM at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulda with Rev. Fr. Wayne Morris as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Building Fund or Guernsey County Special Olympics.
