Obituary for Charlene Christine Jennings
Charlene Christine Jennings, age 64, of Southern Shores, North Carolina, died Friday, December 18th, 2021, at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center in Chesapeake, Virginia, surrounded by her husband and children. She was born April 16th, 1957, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, daughter of Dale W. Davis and the late Patricia Rochus Davis. Charlene was a 1975 graduate of Shenandoah High School and she earned her cosmetology license from the Guernsey-Noble Vocational School. She was a cosmetologist for 44 years. After retirement, she moved to the Outer Banks with her husband. Charlene enjoyed reading and redecorating, she loved the beach, and she was always taking care of others. She was a devoted Christian, a loving wife for the past 44 years, and an amazing mother. Most of all, she was a wonderful grandma and Mimi. She attended Lighthouse Church in Kitty Hawk and previously attended Perry Chapel in Warsaw, Ohio.
In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her first grandchild, Reagan Jennings.
Surviving are her husband, Joe Jennings; her children, Brandon Jennings (Brooke) and McKenzie Povlinko (Matt); 5 grandchildren, Bailey, Madden, Mclain, Braddock and Briley; her father Dale W. Davis; two brothers, Dale Robert Davis and Dennis Davis; one sister, Diana Beaty; and 4 nephews and a niece.
There will be no calling hours and the family will observe a private service.
