Obituary for Cecil Gerald Cain
Cecil Gerald Cain, age 82, of Caldwell, died Saturday, September 16, 2006, at Selby General Hospital, Marietta. He was born March 16, 1924, in Morgan County, Ohio, son of the late John Clarence and Pearl Lyons Cain. He was a graduate of Manchester High School and a World War II Army veteran, having served in the European Theatre of Operations as a truck driver, and he served for 26 years in the U.S. Army Reserves. He owned and operated a family farm for many years and was a Methodist by faith. He enjoyed hunting groundhogs and going out with deer hunters. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Erlene Enid Landaker Cain, who died October 24, 1982; and a sister, Thelma Scott. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Reba Farley of Sarahsville; and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Friends may call Monday, September 18, 2006, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where the service will be Tuesday, September 19 at 11AM with Pastor Thurman Harmon officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by the Noble County Veterans Services Organization.
