Obituary for Carla Joyce Slagle Wilson
Carla Joyce Slagle Wilson, age 78, of Summerfield, Ohio, died Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark. She was born November 2, 1939, in Johnstown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Robert K. and Vierma A. Burnheimer Slagle. She was a 1957 graduate of Johnstown High School. Carla was a devoted military and farm wife, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker. She was proud of her baking and decorated cakes for many people and for many occasions. She was also very artistic and was proud of her ceramics.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Judy Slagle; and one son-in-law, Joe Cline.
Surviving are her husband, Kenneth Earl Wilson, whom she married August 16, 1958; her children, Cheri Lynn (Michael) Stevens, Kendra Joyce Cline, and Scott Allen (Stacy) Wilson, all of Summerfield; three brothers, G. Dean (Louanna) Slagle of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Porter (Charlotte) Slagle of Batesville, and Vaughn Slagle of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, and 2 to be born soon; and several nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters-in-law.
Friends may call Wednesday, August 15, 2018, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Thursday, August 16th at 1PM with Pastor Darrell Clark officiating.
