Obituary for Burhl D. Stack
Burhl D. Stack, age 81, of Macksburg, Ohio, died Sunday, April 4, 2010, at his home. He was born April 11, 1928, in Elba, son of the late Delbert and Carrie Heddleson Stack. He attended Macksburg High School, and he was employed by Union Slag and the former Haldon Lumber Company. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the American Legion in Marietta. He was Methodist by faith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four sisters, Geraldine Heddleson, Louise King, Maxine Addlesburger, and Virginia Stack; and three brothers, Harry McGinnis, Leon Stack, and Blaine Stack. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy T. Kacovec Egnot Stack, whom he married January 8, 2000; one daughter, Melissa Bassett of Marietta; a step-daughter, Cindy Conway of St. Clairsville; a step-son, Donald Egnot of Macksburg; three sisters, Betty J. Smith of Navarre, Lillian ?Jo? Stalnaker of Punta Gorda, Florida, and Agnes Ruth Stack of Jacksonville, Florida; a half-sister, Vicki Montgomery of Orlando, Florida; a half-brother, Norman Stack of Orlando, Florida; two grandchildren, Trent and Laken; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 7, 2010, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Thursday, April 8th at 11AM with Pastor Bill Pickenpaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Township Cemetery in Lower Salem.
