Obituary for Brenda K. Okey
Brenda K. Okey, age 52, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Thursday, July 16, 2020, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born March 14, 1968, in Zanesville, daughter of Warren Moore of Sarahsville and the late Evelyn Jean Nichols Archer, who died in 2003. She was a 1986 graduate of Caldwell High School and Mid East Career Center in Zanesville, where she was enrolled in the LPN program. Brenda enjoyed a long nursing career, having been employed by Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, the Noble County Health Department, and Six County. She was a member of the Olive Green United Methodist Church. She enjoyed attending rock concerts, reading, and spending time on her computer. She was devoted to her family.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her children, Brandon A. (Christen) Okey and Breanna A. (Matthew) Allen, all of Caldwell; a half-brother, John (Christina) Moore of Summerfield; three grandchildren, Delani Okey, Clayton Okey, and Mason Allen; her former husband and caregiver, Bruce A. Okey of Caldwell; two aunts, Judy Weisand and Rama Reese; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her beloved dog and companion, her miniature poodle, Cooper.
Friends may call Saturday, July 18, 2020, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Sunday, July 19th at 2PM with Pastor Bill Pickenpaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery. For public safety, guests are encouraged to wear a mask and practice social distancing at all gatherings.
