Obituary for Boyd D. "Bud" Cunningham
Boyd D. “Bud” Cunningham, age 72, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at SE Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge. He was born November 6, 1947, in Ritchie County, West Virginia, son of the late Ralph William and Ruth Marie McHenry Cunningham. He was a graduate of Pennsboro High School, and he was a United States Merchant Marine and United States Army veteran, having served in Korea as a medic. He retired as a laminator operator from International Converter in Caldwell following over 40 years of service. Bud was Baptist by faith, and he was a member of Sharon Lodge #136, F&AM. He enjoyed woodworking, reading, gardening, and he loved looking for deer. He was a good-hearted man who loved helping his neighbors.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Dorris (Bob) Reynolds and Donna (Darlee) Ross; and one brother, Richard “Ricky” Cunningham.
Surviving are his wife, Lorena K. Boney, whom he married May 25, 1974; three children, Jennifer M. Cunningham and husband Greg Baker of Batesville, Adriane D. (Robert) Markoff of Brooklyn, New York, and Boyd W. (Kristi) Cunningham of Claysville; five grandchildren, Lillian Baker, Leo and Walter Markoff, and Carter and Kaylee Cunningham; his siblings, Alice Sue Bradfield of Canton, Sandra Jo (Larry) Griffin of Pennsboro, West Virginia, Jerald Cunningham of St. Marys, West Virginia, and Margaret Lynn Sinnett, Lois (Gary) Gilmore, Candice Ross, and Nelson Cunningham, all of Harrisville, West Virginia; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Friday, November 8, 2019, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a masonic service will begin at 7:30PM. The funeral service will be observed Saturday, November 9th at 11AM with Ken Perkins officiating. A veteran’s graveside service will follow at Sharon Cemetery conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
