Obituary for Bonnie L. Bailey
Bonnie L. Bailey, age 88, of Belle Valley, Ohio, died Friday, July 20, 2018, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. She was born February 10, 1930, in Olive Twp., Noble County, daughter of the late Howard and Marvel Hupp McCauley. She was a 1948 graduate of Caldwell High School. She also attended Cambridge Beauty School, and after she passed her exams, she taught at the school. She then worked for Maxine Woodford at her hair salon in Caldwell. Bonnie enjoyed music and singing, and she was a member of Noble County Performing Arts where she enjoyed singing with her friends. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed working in her flowers, especially her roses. Being a homemaker was extremely important to her. Delicious baked goods and cooking samples were always in her kitchen when neighbors stopped to visit. Bonnie’s family was always first priority, and there are numerous lovely memories of holiday dinners at Ammie’s, complete with several selections of pies and her ever popular cinnamon rolls.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Eugene Bailey, whom she married June 30, 1951, and who died April 13, 2011; two sisters, Virginia Griffen and Violet Kovach; and two brothers, Blaine McCauley and Sterling McCauley.
Surviving are her children, daughter Sherry Coyle and her husband Gary, and their family, Julia Wheeler, husband Ben, and children Taylor and Kyle of Caldwell, and Gary Coyle, II, and daughter Phoenix Claire Coyle of Prairie Village, Kansas; son Edward E. Bailey, Jr. and his wife, Audrey, and their family, Brett Bailey, Matt and Ricci Bailey, Nicholas Bailey, Olivia Bailey, and great-grandson Aiden Bailey, all of Woodlands, Texas; her brother, Paul McCauley of San Jose, California; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Sunday, July 22, 2018, from 3-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a Christian scripture service will follow visitation at 8PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be observed Monday, July 23rd at 10AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Belle Valley with Rev. Fr. Wayne Morris as celebrant. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery.
