Obituary for Bonnie J. Swaney
Bonnie J. Swaney, age 70, of Macksburg, Ohio, died Wednesday, December 1, 2021, surrounded by her family at the home of her son in Caldwell. She was born October 24, 1951, in Lower Salem, daughter of the late Homer Albert and Garnet Corine Dennis Hupp. Bonnie was a 1970 graduate of Caldwell High School. She was employed over the years as a waitress and a home health provider. She loved playing Boggle and Scrabble as well as working crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed counted cross stitch, reading, and working in her yard. She was a loving mother, wife, and homemaker who was devoted to her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Leroy Swaney, whom she married August 10, 2001, and who died February 14, 2021; and three brothers, Dwain, Mike, and Jerry Hupp.
Surviving are her children, Sean D. (Tracy) Hupp of Caldwell, Mark D. “Bink” (Christina) Swain of Macksburg, and Stephanie D. (Teresa) Murphy of Lower Salem; seven grandchildren, James R. Hupp, Hayleigh N. Milligan, Johnathan D. Swain, Troy D. Hupp, Levi M. Swain, Alexis D. Swain, and Tianna M. Swain; seven great-grandchildren, Haiden, Harmony, Elijah, Colt, Elena, Cooper, and Madison; her siblings, Judy (Eddie) Miller of Florida, Sandra Sutton of Texas, Sharyn Baldrick of Florida, and Jimmy Hupp of Macksburg; and her beloved pug, Puggie.
Friends may call Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Sunday at 2PM with Pastor Bill Pickenpaugh officiating.
