Obituary for Betty R. Hountz
Betty R. Hountz, age 89, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Monday, January 7, 2019, at SE Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge. She was born August 20, 1929, in Batesville, Indiana, daughter of the late Frank and Rose Ronnebaum Flaspohler. She was a 1947 graduate of Batesville High School in Indiana, and she was employed by Nordonia Schools in Macedonia, Ohio, as a cafeteria worker. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell, and she enjoyed counted cross stitching and traveling. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was loved by her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Jeanette Eckstein; and a son-in-law, Joseph E. Snider.
Surviving are her husband, Laurence T. Hountz, whom she married May 29, 1948; two daughters, Linda M. Snider of Caldwell and Rita C. Wilpers of Roswell, Georgia; five grandchildren, Alexander J. Snider of Columbus, Brian E. (Elizabeth) Snider of Boxford, Massachussetts, Anthony L. Snider of Willoughby, Emily Rose Davis of Majadahonda, Spain, and Matthew W. Wilpers of New York, New York; 4 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Edith Aulbach of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and Francis (Dorothy) Flaspohler of Batesville, Indiana; a sister-in-law, Dolores Allen of Fairfield; and many nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be observed by the family at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Caldwell.
