Obituary for Betty J. Cater
Betty J. Cater, age 79, of Pleasant City, Ohio, died Monday, March 5, 2012, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell, Ohio. She was born April 23, 1932, in Fredericksdale, daughter of the late Walter and Mary Arnold Davis. She was a 1951 graduate of Sarahsville High School, and she was employed by Caldwell Savings and Loan for 31 years. Mrs. Cater was a member of the Ava United Methodist Church, and many people came to know Jesus through her witness, love, and example. She enjoyed visiting shut-ins, and watching The Trinity Broadcast Network and basketball games. She also enjoyed being at home, watching wildlife, and mowing her yard. She was well known for baking brownies, and she enjoyed visiting Amish country. She loved her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, M. Leslie Cater, who died April 4, 1983; and one daughter, Clyta L. Webster, who died May 13, 2010. Surviving are one son, David L. (Tina) Cater of Sarahsville; one son-in-law, Dan Webster of Caldwell; two sisters, Patty (B.G.) Davis of Caldwell and Wanda (Dave) Ziler of Cumberland; five grandchildren, Danny (Tara) Webster and Leslie (Kevin) Krenisky, both of Senecaville, Kevin (Michelle) Webster of Cambridge, Ryan (Jessica) Cater of Zanesville, and Samantha Cater of Cambridge; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call Thursday, March 8, 2012, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral will be observed Friday, March 9th at 11AM with Pastor Jimmy Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
