Obituary for Betty J. Miller Gomez
Betty J. Miller Gomez, age 84, of Canton, Ohio, died Friday, January 16, 2015, at Astoria Care Center in Canton. She was born October 15, 1930, in Buffalo Twp., Noble County, daughter of the late Clyde and Charlotte Tilton Russell. She was a 1948 graduate of Sarahsville High School, and she retired as a housekeeper for Aultman Hospital in Canton. She was a member of the Canton South Church of the Nazarene. Mrs. Gomez enjoyed crossword puzzles and word search puzzles, reading the newspaper, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis J. Miller, who died December 1, 1991; her second husband, Armando A. Gomez; and two sons, Jimmy and Tommy Miller.
Surviving are her children, Russell G. Miller, Charlotte C. Meredith, and John I. Miller, all of Canton; one sister, Norma Jean King, of Canton; her longtime friend and classmate, Pearl Stottsberry of Summerfield; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Tuesday, January 20, 2015, from 12PM-2PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 2PM with Ken Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Halleys Ridge Cemetery in Ava.
