Obituary for Betty Elizabeth McCauley
Betty Elizabeth McCauley, age 83, of Coal Ridge and Ava, Ohio, died Monday, March 11, 2013, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. She was born October 12, 1929, in Coal Ridge, daughter of the late Andrew and Julia Yeager Sopko. She was formerly employed by Weatherseal in Caldwell, Hamilton Beach-Sckovill in Byesville, and Sycon in Cambridge. Betty attended First Church of Christ in Caldwell and the Good Shepherd Foursquare Gospel Church in Cambridge. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, gardening, and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, James David Trenner in 2010; one grandson, Darrell Stottsberry in 1998; her former husband, Wayne W. “Sparky” McCauley in 2012; two sisters, Wilma Moshey and Mary Ann Hill; and three brothers, George, William, and Joe Sopko. Surviving are one son, Terry Lee (Daphine) Trenner of Byesville; two daughters, Linda D. (Terry) Roberts of Caldwell and Julia Trenner Roberts of Caldwell; three brothers, Andy (Helen) Sopko, James (Nancy) Sopko, and Frank (Hazel) Sopko, all of Baden, Pennsylvania; 9 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 1 great-great- grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday, March 13, 2013, from 11AM-1PMPM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow at 1PM with REv. Dr. Robert Buckley officiating. Burial will follow in Hoskinsville Cemetery.
