Barbara L. Trader, age 76, of Cumberland, Ohio, died Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. She was born August 10, 1947, in Evanston, Illinois, daughter of the late William A. and Frances H. Rowan. Barbara was a graduate of Washington Township High School in Washington Township, Pennsylvania. She was co-owner of Buffalo Fork Dog and Hunting Supply, and she also worked as a dietary and nurse’s aide at nursing homes. Along with her family, she did drywall and painting. Barbara loved to write poetry, having some of her poems published. She also enjoyed drawing, crocheting, fishing and boating at Salt Fork Lake, and playing softball. She was devoted to her family and will be truly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a great-grandson, Jaxson Alejandro.
Surviving are her husband, Edward A. Trader, whom she married July 17, 1974; her children, Jenny L. (David) Lowther of Akron, Paula M. (Dale) Fawley of Cumberland, Arietta J. (Shawn) Paulus of Ravenna, Cherie A. (Christopher) Jenkins of Cumberland, Pamela J. Hopkins of Cambridge, and Debbie K. (Kevin) Brown of Akron; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; one sister, Gloria J. (Russell) Mundy of Leechburg, Pennsylvania; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends; and her beloved Labradoodle, Koda.
Friends may call Thursday, September 7, 2023, from 1-4PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 4PM with Pastor John Powell officiating.
