Obituary for Barbara J. Thompson
Barbara J. Thompson, age 75, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born August 11, 1942, in Akron, daughter of the late Fred L. and Mildred E. Brummit Housley. She was a graduate of Stow High School, and she was employed by Wilson Plastics in Cambridge and Arrow Plastics in Byesville. Barbara attended Calais Church in Calais and the Center Free Methodist Church in Sarahsville. She enjoyed watching television and making crafts.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Thompson, whom she married October 30, 1970, and who died February 9, 2006; one son, Bruce Thompson; a great-granddaughter, Ember Thompson; and one brother, Stephen James Housley.
Surviving are her children, Barbara Lee Thompson and Todd William (Michelle) Thompson, all of Caldwell; her siblings, Pat (Jimmy) Kisner of Diamond, Kay Duston of Canada, Fred L. (Kay) Housley, II, of Caldwell, and Arthur Ross (Kathy) Housley of Canfield; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Saturday, December 9, 2017, from 1PM-5PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Sunday, December 10th at 2PM with Pastor Don Arbuckle officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Ephraim Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, P.O. Box 263, Caldwell, Ohio, 43724, to assist the family.
