Obituary for Andrew Hronec
Andrew Hronec, age 94, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care in Zanesville. He was born December 13, 1918, in Coal Ridge, son of the late George and Mary Shernesky Hronec. He retired in 1982 as a machine operator from Ekco Products in Byesville. Mr. Hronec was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Pleasant City, and he was also a member of the Point Pleasant Lodge #360, F&AM, and the Noble County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed gardening, farming, and watching sports, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Ronald A. Hronec, who died December 10, 2011; three sisters, Mary Burg, Sue Rozlozny, and Julia Sabo; and two brothers, George and John Hronec. Surviving are his wife, Mary D. Heddleson Hronec, whom he married September 29, 1945; one daughter, Diane L. (James) Wharton of Caldwell; one daughter-in-law, Joan L. Hronec of Caldwell; one sister, Shirley (Dan) German of Cambridge; one sister-in-law, Eleanor Hronec of Pleasant City; four grandchildren, Douglas J. (Emmeline) Wharton, Andrea L. (Chad) Folmer, John R. Hronec, and Andrew P. Hronec, all of Caldwell; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Saturday, January 19, 2013, from 5-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Sunday at 2:30PM with Pastor Mike Poole officiating. Burial will follow at Halley’s Ridge Cemetery.
