Obituary for Amanda LaFollette Hamilton
Amanda LaFollette Hamilton, age 49, of Marietta, Ohio, died Sunday, February 15, 2009, at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg, West Virginia. She was born April 4, 1959, in New Martinsville, West Virginia, daughter of the late Elmer and Mildred Rickreed LaFollette. She was a 1977 graduate of Caldwell High School and worked as a quality control inspector for LDM in Byesville, Ohio. Amanda attended Trinity Baptist Church in Cambridge. She enjoyed reading and was deeply interested in Native American culture and crafts. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Nathan Davis; and a sister, Rosemary Morgan. Surviving are her husband, David B. Hamilton, whom she married August 5, 1995; two daughters, Mari Beth (John) Gazzale of Lowell and Rebecca Ann Wolfe (Mike Templeton) of Marietta; one son, Jacob Matthew Shaffer of Marietta; seven sisters, Barb Bates of Cambridge, Robin (John) Dyer of Moundsville, West Virginia, Nellie (Bill) Burch of Cambridge, Anna (Rick) Pauley of Staunton, Virginia, Melanie (Tim) Bell of Aiken, South Carolina, Holly Dudley of Byesville, and Barb (Greg) Knight of Buffalo; four grandchildren, J.D., Austin, Cory and Bryce; many nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, Dr. Nik Shah and staff. Friends may call Wednesday, February 18, 2009, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where services will be observed Thursday, February 19th at 1PM.
