Obituary for Allie Montana Pillar
Allie Montana Adkins Lambert Pillar, age 94, of Dexter City, Ohio, went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 5, 2008, surrounded by her loving family at her home. She was born April 11, 1915, in Lincoln County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Dennie and Valerie Adkins Adkins. She was the last surviving child in the Adkins family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who was a source of love and inspiration to all. She will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Ward Lambert and Walter Pillar; three sons, Hershal Lambert, Harold Lambert, and Burley 'Glenn' Lambert; four sisters, Vicki (Hance) Doss, Julie (Daner) Brogan, Maggie (Hallie) Estep, and Ethel (Ernie) Bruno; four brothers, Sesco (Glennie) Adkins, Roscoe (Stella) Adkins, Ellis (Almeda) Adkins, and Freddie (Dean) Adkins; three grandchildren; and two-great-grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Christine (Otis 'Pete') Hildebrand and Charlotte (Larry) Lutsy, both of Berea; Herman (Pheba) Lambert, Herbert (Connie) Lambert, and Anna Gaye Workman, all of Chesapeake, Robert (Mary Lou) Lambert of Cumberland, Joyce (Donnie) Egnot of Macksburg, and Delores (Fred) Arbaugh of Beverly; three daughters-in-law, Omega Porch, Deloris 'Dee Dee' Lambert, and Norita Lambert; 23 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Saturday, June 7, 2008, from 6-9PM at Koontz Funeral Home, 238 Walnut Street, Hamlin, West Virginia, and Sunday, June 8th until the 1PM service time. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in West Virginia. McVay-Perkins Funeral Home is caring for the family.
