Alice J. Bond, age 93, of Ava, Ohio, died Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Southeastern Medical Center in Cambridge. She was born September 27, 1929, in Guernsey County, daughter of the late Harry H. and Gladys D. Sickles Dudley. Alice retired in 1991 from Champion Spark Plug in Cambridge. She was a member of the Ava Free Methodist Church and the Byesville VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre. Alice was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde H. “Junior” Bond; two daughters, Darla Jean Perkins, who died in 2019, and Sandra Jo Perkins, who died in 2022; one great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Nicole Malhiet; and two sisters, Virginia Triplett Tennant and Artie L. Watson.
Surviving are her daughter, G. Jane Hogan (John Kirkbride) of Old Washington; 6 grandchildren, Sanna (Brian) Anderson, Dawnetta (Chad) Carter, Rick Hogan, LaVonda (Mike) Malhiet, Nathan (Allene) Perkins, and Shane (Janeen) Hogan; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 2 sons-in-law, Fred P. Perkins of New Johnsonville, Tennessee, and James W. Perkins of Ava; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Saturday, August 19, 2023, from 11AM-2PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 2PM with Dave Wells and Ken Perkins officiating.
