Obituary for Alfred Ogle Shilling
Alfred Ogle Shilling, age 96, of Tipton, Iowa, formerly of Caldwell, Ohio died Monday, (4/7/2003) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was born 1/25/1907 in Caldwell, Ohio a son of the late Charles Edward and Hattie May Hupp Shilling. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by 2 sons Bobby Shilling, in infancy, and John Shilling; 4 brothers Nolan, Dan, Wayne and Frank Shilling; and 1 sister Mabel Blanchard. Surviving are his wife Kathryn Agnes Gleason Inks Shilling whom he married 5/6/1961; 5 daughters Donna Shilling of Warner, Ohio, Juanita (Bob) Grosz of Lowell, Ohio, Mary Arline Smith of Coralville, Iowa, Janet (Norman) Ford of Tipton, Iowa and Janet (Pat) Stover of Waterford, Ohio; 4 sons Charles 'Doc' Shilling of Malta, Ohio, Richard (Dottie) Shilling of Malta, Ohio, Wayne (Martha) Shilling of Whipple, Ohio and William (Patti) Shilling of Macksburg, Ohio; 1 step-son William Inks of Tipton, Iowa; 25 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Friends may call Friday (4/11/2003) from 7 to 9 PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, Ohio 43724, where services will be held on Saturday (4/12/2003) at 1:30 PM with the Rev. William Pickenpaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Ogle's Ridge Cemetery near Middleburg, Ohio. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimers Foundation or the American Heart Association.
