Obituary for Albert Edsel Boyd
Albert Edsel Boyd, age 82, of Dexter City, Ohio, died Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at the home of his daughter, Nancy. He was born December 7, 1932, in Manchester Twp., Morgan County, Ohio, son of the late Hurlbert W. and Mary Pauline Stewart Boyd. He was a 1951 graduate of Forest Grove High School, and he retired as a dozer operator for B&N Coal Company in Dexter City. He also owned and operated a family farm for many years. Mr. Boyd was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church near Dexter City, and he attended Faith Baptist Church in Belle Valley and Warner Community Church. He loved to work his Haflinger-Percheron mix horses, do carpentry work, and work outdoors.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Marie Schneeberger Boyd, whom he married October 5, 1951, and who died February 7, 2015; one granddaughter, Kyla Marie Boyd; one sister, Karen Wickham; and three brothers, Lawrence, Eldon, and Bob Boyd.
Surviving are five children, Kathy A. Boyd of Cumberland, Jimmie D. (Linda) Boyd of Mogadore, Nancy S. (Roger) Mitchell of Cumberland, Tim W. (Donna) Boyd of Caldwell, and Roy E. (Denise) Boyd of Pleasant City; one sister, Carol (Bill) Ray of Bethesda; one brother, Delmar Boyd of McConnellsville; eight grandchildren, Amanda Boyd, Katie Beal, Ashley Wheeldin, Kelsey Holt, Silas Mitchell, Daniel Mitchell, Matthew Boyd, and Levi Boyd; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Thursday, August 27, 2015, from 2-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Friday, August 28th at 11AM with Pastor Larry Copley and Pastor Bill Pickenpaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Ogle’s Ridge Cemetery.
