Obituary for James Robert Paluch
James Robert Paluch, age 82, of Caldwell, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, May 17th, 2018, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. He was born March 18, 1936, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, one of eight children born to the late Joseph and Victoria Yamka Paluch. He became the Brownsville Marbles Champion at the age of 12. Jim married his beloved wife of 60 years, Hazel Sparks, on August 31st, 1957. They resided and raised their two children in LaGrange, Ohio, where Jim played for many years on the Lagrange Screw Products softball team. He retired from General Motors following 30 years of service, and later moved to Wooster and then Sharon, Ohio. He loved nothing more than working outside on his farm in Sharon with his children, grandchildren, and faithful dog, Jake.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Joe, Dan and Bill Paluch; one step-brother, Gene Legeza; two sisters, Madeline Balaban and Catherine Miles; and grandson, Michael J. Turner.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Sparks Paluch; one son, James D. (Beth) Paluch of Asheville, North Carolina; one daughter, Debbie (Mike) Turner of Caldwell; grandson, James J. (Amanda); and grandson, Andrew; great-granddaughter, Taylor; great- grandson, Calvin James; one sister, Maxine Blonchek; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Friends may call Saturday, May 19, 2018, from 2-6PM and Sunday, May 20th from 2-3PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral will follow visitation Sunday at 3PM with Irving Ross, John Willbur, and Greg Swenson officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery.
