Obituary for Drema K. Elkins
Drema K. Elkins, age 64, of Pleasant City, Ohio, died Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at The Pickering House in Lancaster. She was born August 21, 1953, in Yeager, West Virginia, daughter of the late Burton H. and Elsie Arvilla Rife Cooper. She was a 1971 graduate of Shenandoah High School, and she was employed as a certified nurse assistant and by Detroit Diesel for 12 years. She was also a family ombudsman while her husband served in the United States Navy. Drema was a woman of great faith. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and cooking for her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant grandson, Stephen Arsenault; and one brother, Kyle D. Cooper, who died August 2, 2017.
Surviving are her husband, Ivan G. “Gale” Elkins, whom she married December 17, 1971; three children, Stephanie Ann (Jason) Arsenault of Phoenix, Arizona, Christopher Michael (Traci) Elkins of Chillicothe, and Jonathon Gale (Heather) Elkins of Lore City; her siblings, Barry L. (Deidre) Cooper of North Carolina, Terry K. (Brenda) Cooper of Cambridge, and Burton D. “Randy” (Debbie) Cooper of Poquoson, Virginia; 13 grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
